Worked at Creech’s Pharmacy in Smithfield until he opened his own pharmacy, Carroll Pharmacy, in 1977.
Married his high school sweetheart, Terry Knott, of Smithfield in 1968. They have three grown children:
Dr. Ray Carroll and his wife Jennifer and their children Holden, Lucy, Lila and Henry of Cary, N.C. Ray is a shoulder and elbow specialist with Cary Orthopaedics and Garner Orthopaedics)
Alan Carroll and his wife Carolyn and their children Lindsay and Brady of Smithfield, NC. Alan is a pharmacist with Carroll Pharmacy.
Allison Carroll of Raleigh, NC. Allison is a marketing manager with IBM.
Kay is a member of First Baptist Church Smithfield where he has served on the board of deacons for over 25 years.
In his SPARE time, Kay enjoys deep-sea fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family…especially his six grandchildren!
Kay and Terry moved from Smithfield, NC to Four Oaks, NC in 1994.
